Do ceramic hair straightners damage hair?

I heard it doesn't but I'm not sure...Can anyone explain? I'm thinking of buying one...Do ceramic hair straightners damage hair?
heat is the #1 cause of damagede hair. it doesnt matter if the heat sorce is the sun a blow dryer, a curling iron, or any thermal styling tool. there are products you can buy like glossing polish that protect it from damage from these tools. and yes ceramic straightners get very hot so you NEED some kind of product on your hair when u use it.Do ceramic hair straightners damage hair?
Any Straighteners with the right products does not damage hair. Ceramic straightners even without products doesn't do even close to as much damage as normal straightners. So the answer is it does damage your hair, but very little.
All heated products do some damage - but i hear that tourmaline plated straighteners are less damaging than ceramic ones.... and my hairdresser said never to use those wet 2 dry straightners as they literally boil your hair..
All heat damages hair.
They do, but not as much as non-ceramic straighteneres. They are better and reduce damage.
no, they dont. never straighten hair when its wet. use a chi, those r the best of the best ever!
Yes the heat damamges your hair. I have a straightner and i dont use it all the time but not every day. I think if you wanted to buy one for everyday use you shouold buy a professional grade ceramic straightner but if it for just a few occasions or 3 times a week kind of thing you should go for the less expencive straightner like from target.
if you spend your money on a real ceramic one you will get your money's worth!! is the best and NO it will not burn it/ damage your hair it will leave it super shiny!!!!!

=)
I have a gold-plated one I've been using for a year and a half and my hair is fine.
Yes...any kind of heat tool will damage your hair, BUT they're aren't as bad as the straightners with the metal plates and such.

but there are some products you can buy which can protect your hair from damage by putting them in before straightening. = )
