Any advice for new hair straighteners?

So, it was my birthday yesterday, and i got a new straightener( a chi from trade secret) My old one was one of those 3 in 1 straightener, crimper, whatevers that you needed steam for it to work.

I know the technology has changed, so, do you have any tips?Any advice for new hair straighteners?
Make sure your hair is dry. Depending on the coarseness of your hair, you will probably notice that the new straightener works faster and better. I have very coarse hair and with older straighteners, I had to hold it in place to let the steam work, but with the newer ones, I don't have to do that and when I do, my hair smells funny, like it is burnt. My suggestion is to start near the roots and smoothly move to the ends without stopping or lingering. If that section is not straight enough, it is better to go over it again than to stop or linger.

Happy Straightening!Any advice for new hair straighteners?
yeah, smaller sections at a time

1. Keep your flat iron clean. It will last longer and do less damage to your hair.

2. Use a styling aid to prevent frizz before you blow dry. Sealed Ends by BC Bonicure seal the ends of your hair locking out frizziness by 79 percent. Use it after your blow dry to get rid of frizz.

3. Practice before you head out to any major event. It's very easy to use once you get the knack of it.

4. When using the iron on your hair comb, on the section you are using first, before running the iron through it.

5. Try avoiding using any products until you finish straightening out your hair.

6. Use small sections. The smaller the section the flatter and more weightless your hair will be.

7. Use even pressure while stroking your flat iron from the root to the end without stopping on any part of the sectioned hair.

8. Use a wide bristle brush on your hair while brushing your desired shape into place.

9. Use a lightweight serum to smooth any frizz left over. You'll only need a little.

10. Let your iron cool; clean its surface with a cloth so you鈥檒l be ready to use it again tomorrow.
Similar answer to previous question. Best to section off your hair to achieve best result. And although it may not be good for your hair, get right down to the roots to get an overall straight affect. Always use some sort of heat protection spray on your hair before you go for it with anything involving alot of heat. You want to protect your locks, not fry them x.
I think they have a special creme or jell or something like that at a retail store that you put in your hair before you straight iron and it is supposed to give you better results.
staightnen your hair section by section and brush your hair while you are staightening it.
Do smaller sections at a time for the best results.
Do very thin layers at a time.
nope
